Alerts

Vetroscope has two kinds of nudges: automatic break reminders driven by how long you’ve been working, and alerts you set up yourself — at a set time, or when your tracked time reaches a milestone.

Settings → Alerts → Enable break reminders, then set Remind every in minutes. The clock counts continuous work — going idle resets it, so you’re only nudged when you’ve genuinely been at it that long without a pause.

Open Alerts from the button at the top of the window, or from Settings → Alerts, then choose Add alert and pick an Alert type:

  • Custom alert — once at a set time, or on a repeating schedule. Pick the days it runs on, with optional start and end dates.
  • Tag alert — lets you know when a tag reaches an amount of time you choose for the Day, Week, or Month.
  • App alert — the same for one app, or one breakdown inside it.
  • App session alert — lets you know each time you’ve spent a set amount of time in one app without a break.
  • Goal alert — follows one of your goals. Turn on Progress updates for an alert at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, or set Periodic digests to hear how it’s going every so often or at set times.

Each alert can be paused, edited, or deleted from its row. Times follow your Time format setting (12 or 24 hour).

The Alerts panel keeps a history of alerts that have fired, and a Dismissed list of the ones you’ve cleared. A red badge on the Alerts button counts unread alerts.

Some alerts come from Vetroscope itself — for example, when a finished day on the Timeline still has time blocks to dispute. Click that alert to open the day. On the web dashboard, Alerts also lists changes that are waiting for a computer to apply them.

Settings → Notifications controls how alerts reach you:

  • A native system notification — the standard macOS or Windows banner — always fires.
  • Show alert cards also shows a card inside Vetroscope that stays until you close it, for alerts that shouldn’t vanish after five seconds.
  • Blink tray icon for unread alerts pulses the tray or menu bar icon while you have unread alerts. The red badge shows either way.

Alerts sync, so one created on your desktop fires on your laptop too, and you can manage them from the web dashboard. When a trial ends, alerts stop firing until you purchase.
