Ignoring apps and sites

Anything on an ignore list is never recorded — it won’t appear in any view, total, or export. Use it for password managers, private browsing, or anything you simply don’t want in your data.

Settings → Ignored has four lists, from broad to narrow:

  • Apps — the whole app. Time in it is never tracked.
  • Breakdowns — a specific project or site, while the rest of the app still tracks. Ignore one client’s folder, keep the others.
  • Keywords & Extensions — patterns. Any breakdown whose name matches a keyword (or file extension) is skipped, current and future.
  • Sub-breakdowns — a single video, song, or conversation.

The fastest way is in place: right-click an app or breakdown anywhere it appears — Home, the Calendar sidebar, the Timeline — and choose ignore. Manage the full lists in Settings → Ignored, where each entry can be removed again.

Removing an entry stops ignoring it from that moment on. Time that passed while it was ignored was never recorded and can’t be recovered — ignoring happens before anything is written.

The browser extension has its own Ignored sites list by hostname — useful when you want a site skipped at the source, before it ever reaches the app. Entries there match subdomains too.
